Shadow Inventory – How It Affects Home Prices.

There has been a lot of media coverage about Shadow Inventory and the impact on property values now and in the near future.  Shadow Inventory comprises of properties that are distressed and seriously deliquent but not currently on the market.  While there is still a significant number of homes in this category, the number has dropped in the last year and is the lowest since October of 2008.  The presence of Shadow Inventory can and does negatively affect home prices.
